yoga alliance certified teacher training

Our 200 Hr training is accredited by the international YOGA ALLIANCE and recognized by the Government as an educational program.   Marie-Pier TURGEON, Patricia LETENDRE, Jill CAMPBELL and Terri McCOLLUM will lead the training.

This will be the 11th Edition!   More than 350 students have gone through the program to become teachers and to learn  about their practice, their bodies and themselves. The training is  a fabulous gateway to enriching our understanding  of GLOBAL well being: body, spirit, heart and mind.

Many of our past teacher trainees have wished to teach, but first and foremost have taken this training to deepen their yoga practice and knowledge. This HATHA VINYASA training is, above all, an invitation to embark on your personal journey: one of self-exploration guided by the tools that yoga offers, and enriched by the many discussions you will have with your instructors and fellow students. COMMUNITY is what we at STUDIO MILE END are all about. It is the anchor of our school and identity. We know that group work fosters individual growth.

Welcome to a community that strives to create an environment where we listen to, and support, each other without judgment, building a safer place for you to dive deep.

This is an intensive style format, divided into four modules and based on the 200-hour Yoga Alliance certification. It is recognized internationally and will allow you to teach anywhere in the world.

THE RICHNESS OF YOGA’S HISTORY AND PHILOSOPHY WILL BE EXPLORED, DISCUSSED, AND EXPANDED UPON. YOU WILL DELVE INTO THE IMMENSE HISTORY OF THIS PRACTICE IN PALATABLE AND INTERACTIVE WAYS.

You will be exposed to subtle body studies including koshas, chakras, and vayus, as well as the philosophy of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and the eight limb practice. We will examine the ways tradition is relevant today and apply yogic philosophy to our current situations.

The information shared by your instructors comes from the most renowned resources, including their seasoned professional experiences, ensuring the legitimacy of the training.

As providers of internationally certified Yoga Alliance training, we are committed to sharing everything from the big picture to the tiniest details, from the generic to the specific, all to build a clear, structured and rich training. If you’d like to see the detailed program, please  click on the picture below!

TEACHING TEAM

MARIE-PIER TURGEON

VERY FIRST CONTACT WITH YOGA WAS TRANSFORMATIVE.

A full-time teacher since 2011, yoga provides a solid pillar in Marie-Pier’s life. The spiritual aspect is what first attracted her to the practice. Having always been interested in understanding human beings on many levels, it is the richness of yoga and the science that supports it, the world beyond the postures, that keeps her so enthusiastic in her process.

Marie-Pier’s first training was in Hatha yoga, with a strong emphasis on Iyengar style alignment. She then dove into the world of Vinyasa in 2013 and most recently Ashtanga in 2016.

Nurturing her practice is the foundation of her teaching, through daily practice and ongoing trainings. She has been fortunate to teach a wide variety of classes to a multitude of students, local and international retreats, and many different workshops. It is with great honor that she has been co-teaching the STUDIO MILE END Teacher Training since 2018.

Through the practice of yoga, her mission is to help people access their potential, enabling them to align with their unique truth.

JILL CAMPBELL

Yoga has not only followed me through every change in my life, it has constantly piqued my interest, questioning and growth. The more I explore the practice and teachings of yoga, the more I want to deepen my understanding of this discipline, which is an incredible blend of immensity and simplicity.

Every day, asanas offer me a place where I can free myself from my whirlpool of thoughts. From a broader perspective, yoga has supported me in the challenges and joys of life and has enriched each of my experiences while providing me with a space where love, peer support and community spirit can be expressed.

How could I not share this experience with others? I have had the chance to practice alongside incredible guides and gurus, and I pass on their teachings with honour and gratitude .

I was influenced early in life by the practice of yoga. My first classes were after school at 11 years old, in my adolescence and teen years I became very fascinated by different tools for self-discovery and expansion of thought. As a teenager I found the practice of asana to be a great compliment to my other physical activities, and meditation a tool for calming and focusing my busy mind. This is likely what planted the seeds for my later pursuits in meditation and yoga.

At 19 I took my first trip to India to study more deeply and intensely the practice and philosophy of yoga. That first trip took me to a number of Ashrams in Southern India. I developed a keen desire to know more about the history, language and culture surrounding yoga. This fascination led me to complete my studies in Asian religion and South Asia and to make several subsequent trips to India.

Over the years I have been lucky to have the opportunity to practice with many wonderful teachers in several yoga traditions and various movement practices. My personal practice is exploratory and varied including many modalities of movement, pranayama and meditation. In my teaching I draw upon many influences but really encourage a practice unique to the individual. I truly believe that practice itself, of all the limbs, is the true teacher and I hope to inspire and nurture my students to cultivate their own path.
