VALERIA GONZALEZ
BIOGRAPHy

For over 10 years, Valeria has dedicated herself fully to the teaching and practice of yoga. Her journey began in 2010 when she completed her hot yoga teacher certification, which led her to become one of the founders of Hot Yoga Puebla, a thriving yoga community near Mexico City.
After completing her degree in Mexico, she traveled to Europe, where she taught primarily in France for several years. It was eventually in Montreal that she decided to settle and where she discovered Wanderlust Yoga Studio.
She immediately felt a strong connection with the teaching approach and went on to complete two teacher training programs there before joining Team Awesome in 2016. In 2019, she had the opportunity to create yoga teaching content for Vidya Studio in Brazil (São Paulo). This experience inspired her to launch her own yoga project, Bliss Training.
Today, through Bliss Training and in collaboration with her sisters, Valeria offers yoga teacher trainings, retreats, and special events in Mexico. More recently, she traveled to India (Mysore and Rishikesh) to deepen her knowledge, particularly in the areas of yogic philosophy and subtle practices.
In addition to being a yoga teacher, Valeria is also a naturopathic practitioner, having completed an extensive program at IESN (Institut d’Enseignement en Science Naturopathique) in Montreal. When she is not teaching, whether in Mexico or Montreal, she offers health workshops and naturopathic consultations.

Moving forward: a Katonah inspired backbending practice
Friday, September 18 at 10 AM

A Katonah-inspired practice exploring how backbends can help us move forward. From a stable foundation, we’ll create space through the spine and front body, opening the lungs and expanding the breath between each vertebra. With each shape, we’ll invite space and a sense of forward direction into the body's front line.
Katonah Yoga is an approach that incorporates classical hatha yoga with taoist theory, geometry, mythology, metaphor, and imagination. This practice highlights the communal aspect of Katonah Yoga through hands-on work with others and the use of props as scaffolding to provide a stable platform for our asana.
