ARIANE PARADIS

BIOGRAPHy

During my journey in contemporary dance at UQÀM (2008), I fell in love with movement and with the presence and awareness it required me to cultivate. Through the years and through consistent practice, my sense of awareness and attention have deepened, and my body has transformed. I developed a passion for the intelligence of the human body and its incredible capacity for transformation. It was through teaching Pilates that I began sharing my knowledge with others.

I quickly began questioning the learning methods that foster greater body awareness. My studies in somatic education (DESS, 2013) allowed me to better understand this process of awareness and explore different tools to cultivate it. At the same time, in 2013, I completed the 500-hour teacher training at Naada Yoga. Yoga took on an entirely new meaning in my life during this time. Although I had been practicing for years, deepening my practice allowed me to discover a place of daily renewal, free from judgment.

My teaching is shaped by my experience with both anatomy and embodied sensation. I guide creative and intelligent practices that respect the body’s limits, always with the intention of offering each student a sense of well-being and connection.

Workshop Schedule

Bandha Flow

Thursday, September 17 at 6 PM

Bandha Flow is a dynamic vinyasa practice that emphasizes the energetic locks (bandhas); specific areas of subtle muscular and energetic engagement in the body used to support stability, lift, and efficient movement.

Through breath-led sequencing, we’ll work with these internal activations to support breath, core connection, and alignment, creating space and ease in the body.

Pilates Happy Spine

Saturday, September 19 at 8:30 AM

Our spine is a living, dynamic structure, designed to be both stable and mobile, resilient and adaptable. Over time, however, our movement habits, posture, and compensatory patterns can change the way it functions, limiting its natural potential.

It's no surprise that back pain is often called the "modern epidemic." An estimated 80–90% of people will experience back pain or discomfort at some point in their lives.

This Pilates workshop invites you to explore your spine with curiosity and precision, gaining a deeper understanding of how it moves and functions. Using the principles of Pilates, we'll identify common compensatory patterns, cultivate greater body awareness, and explore strategies that support more balanced alignment and a more efficient distribution of load throughout the body. The result is a stronger, more resilient spine, and a greater sense of freedom and ease in your back.

If you'd like, I can also make it sound a little more like a premium workshop description (less clinical, more engaging) while keeping it evidence-informed.
